this photo evokes the realization of the "nature level" beauty of the human race at its peak. She could be a heron, a gazelle, a swan. She looks apart of the ocean , even at high noon light, the blues....with no accent color - is surreal.

Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken on a fairly famous beach which is usually written about by magazines listing some of the top beaches in the world, Flamenco Beach, Culebra, Puerto Rico.
Time
This photo was taken on 5/11/2015 11:54 AM. We were meant to head to the beach much earlier but as luck would have it we couldn't meet any sooner that day.
Lighting
That day there was a great deal of sunlight, although a clouldless day. Being a cloudless day meant that I couldn't rely on the clouds creating a nice background. The focus would be left on the models' shoulders and as well as the colors of the ocean. We did however remember to bring a portable folding reflector to try and scatter the shadows a bit more.
Equipment
I still use an old Nikon D70s which still has the original battery after all these years. This particular shot was taken with a 70-300mm 572D Tamron shot in aperture mode. As well as the portable folding reflector. This is the first time I actually remembered to bring the reflector and if I may add it did make the shooting a little more fun having someone else on the shoot to create a more light balanced photograph and appear to make us look a little more professional and create more of a distance between us and any onlookers from the populated beach.
Inspiration
The photo location itself was chosen by the model Alicia Geigel-Penfiel. I went through a list of location possibilities and asked Alicia which enviroment she would feel most comfortable modeling in. Immediately she chose Flamenco Beach. Although it was already mid-day we rushed to the beach, not wanting to lose the spontaneity.
Editing
Very little post-processing was involved here. However, I did enhance some of the darker tones as well as enrich the blues a touch. Not too much as to ruin the natural beauty and enviromental setting.
In my camera bag
I am an amatuer photograher so I don't really have alot cameras and lenses. But, I have an Nikon D70s and 3 lenses. A Tokina 100mm AT-X Pro Prime , a Tamron 28-80mm 177D, and a Tamron 70-300mm 572D. The Tokina is for my macro stuff, the 28-80mm for group shots, and the 70-300mm for just about anything.
Feedback
Well I'm no expert thats for sure, that being said, I would suggest to anyone who loves photography to pursue shooting things u enjoy in your free time. Also there are a number of little groups available for free on the internet that often give out free user tips and tricks out there these days. Some of it is repetitive but there is always some little gem of knowledge in those articles. Also take as many shots as u can from different angles and distances, you may never have the time or chance to come across the subject matter again. Oh, and Have a Great Day...!
