I took this photo in the New Forest national park in the south of England, it's a really beautiful place and has such a wide variety of landscapes. If your ever in the area on a photography trip it's definitely worth a visit.Time
I took this shot an hour or so before noon, the light was still at a bit of an angle and was streaming through the trees. it was a lucky time to be there !Lighting
When shooting trees in a forest getting them backlit by the sun can provide some beautiful shots, especially if it's earlier in the morning and there is mist or particles in the air.Equipment
Just my 5d mark 3 handheld for this shot with a 50mm lens, I think, or maybe 24-105 but the focal length I used won't have been far off 50.Inspiration
Well it was taken during a really stressful period in my life, but for those few days I was a from it all and was really inspired by serenity and calmness of the scenery. I just wanted to capture it !Editing
Very little, some global exposure adjustments and some spot contrast adjustments to accentuate the rays of light on the floor. In my camera bag
My trusty 5Ds and a 50mm or 24-105 for all my landscape stuff. I occasionally carry a tripod too but I enjoy travelling light.Feedback
As I said earlier, when shooting forests, get there early when the sun is beaming through the trees and shoot the whole scene so the sun is backlighting it but expose for the highlights :)
