This photo was taken at Descanso Gardens. I wanted to take advantage of all the pretty blooms during spring. I took a few pictures of these flowers and decided to soften the petals and focus on the stigma.Time
This was taken mid-morning in an attempt to get softer light. Since the flower was underneath some other leaves, it provided some shade and filtered out the light.Lighting
I love taking pictures during golden hour. I try to time my outings for that time of day. Cloudy days are some other favorites for filtered light.Equipment
I use my Canon 5D Mark III and 24-70mm lens.Inspiration
I was enjoying spring and wanted to capture flowers in a way I hadn't done before. I don't usually do close ups like this and never thought about softening the petals either. I took a few shots before landing on this one. It felt very feminine to me.Editing
I didn't.In my camera bag
I love my Canon 5D Mark III with the 24-70mm lens. Those are always my go to. I have my telephoto on hand as well and happy to use both lenses to take an array of shots.Feedback
Be patient and play with different angles. Do something different than you usually do and most importantly, have fun!
