Itook this image at a boudoir shoot and my model Victoria Bond was not only stunning but a pleasure to work withTime
The time of the day is irrelivant and the shoot took place in a studio where all my elements were controllable but was around 3pm in the afternoonLighting
as you can see from the lighting it is from the left and above about 45 degrees using a soft box the studio was also well lite from natural light from its many windows the background was a black paper and the old leather chair help make the image for me even more alluring you can almost believe that Vistoria is in my study (yeh i wish)Equipment
I used my trusty ole Canon 6D which i think is very underated and is often used over my 5D due to its lightweight design. the lens on this shot is the L series 24-105mm canon Zoom which gives me wonderful flexibility and reduced any post cropping. in fact this image is as shot The leather chair has to get a mention as it was lingering in a corner of the studio just waiting to get its casting callInspiration
i wanted something different and had noticed how stunning Vicky looked with her eyes closed the chair jumping out of the corner gave me the idea and the song by Roy Orbison completed the composition and title Playing around with the lights and shadows completed the idea and its a personal favorite of mine which never looses its charm. Not becuase from the eylids to the pout vicky looks great in the picture but also that the lighting the chair and its shadows and texture help to keep the image as refreshing as the day i took it.Editing

The 6D is never far away normally couple with the 24 - 105mm but i also love the 400mm zoom from canaon especially for action shoots and the bokeh that is some beautifully captured - recently i found a fill flash in the day is giving me some joy but what i love is to capture something lasting and thought provoking.Feedback
yes generally patience and especially in the studio you have full control look around and see whats is available whether its a prop or a lighting scource, certanly be inspired but try and make the shot your own like a cover of a famous song dont kareoke it but give it your prospective let it say something about you. The digital camera of the day is a strange beast people rush because they can blasting through what would be reems of film thinking well at least one will be ok and i can photoshop it later - Step back in time think to yourself what am i trying to capture work on the bases you only have 5 shots to get this right stand back look how the lighting compliments or not your model - position the lights in various positions step back have a look - Becuase when you are happy with an image it will give you years of pleasure think how many hundreds of images do i have that are just ok filling up space on my hard drive slow down look at the light not ust in the studio but every day look how the light can enhance or not people around you at work at home out and about - but dont stare as you might get arrested :-)
