Location
A small bay called Ormos Panangias, Sithoni, Halkidiki, Greece.Time
11.00am approx.Lighting
It was a day of contrasting light. With the large broken clouds drifting it was a game of wait and see as each cloud blocked the sun, when it cleared, or just before/it did so then it was time to taek the shot.Equipment
Camera was a Canon 60D. Lens: Canon: 40mm f2.8 at f14. ISO: 100 Shutter @ 1/500th.Inspiration
With the water so flat and calm giving good reflections the boat made the ideal subject.Editing
Only converting the image from colour to black and white. The image was captured in colour along with a few others, but, on reviewing the image I decided to see how it would look in B&W and voila, I did not bother returning it to colour. In my camera bag
Canon 60D, Canon 5D mk3 (New), Canon 24-105 L f4 lens, Canon 40mm f2.8 lens, Canon 50mm f1.8 lens, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 wide angle lens, Canon 55-250 f4 zoom lens, Canon 18-55mm f5 wide angle lens, various filters and where needed a tripod and remote trigger for low light shooting.Feedback
I found this place purely by accident after taking a wrong turn. Due to the weather being so good and calm there was no pressure to take the shot and so I took my time evaluating and figuring what angles would work etc. My advice would be that in a similar circumstance do the same, there is no need to rush, so use the clouds, available light etc and try to compose the shotfrom an angle you would never normally get. Situation like this are rare so to havethe luxury of time on your side your options are completely open.
