Location
I own a small farm in northwestern Ohio where I have 27 horses, a flock of sheep and I raise Labrador Retrievers. This image is of my palomino stallion outside of his "house".Time
This image was taken in the late morning.Lighting
No special lighting.....All natural.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS Rebel XS with a 18-55 mm lens.Inspiration
I am an amateur photographer and enjoy the ViewBug site....the people, the photographs, the feedback from my peers and the contests. There was a contest entitled "Books and Magazines" and they said to be creative so I took an "American Horse" magazine and allowed "Bear" to "read" it will I photographed him.Editing
I do not have editing software so the image is as I saw it.In my camera bag
I have two cameras: a Canon EOS Rebel XS and a newer Canon EOS Rebel t5i. I have several lenses including a 100 mm macro, a 60 mm macro, an 18-55 mm, a 75-300 mm and a Tamron 150-600 mm.Feedback
My advice as an amateur is to shoot, shoot and shoot some more. Look for interesting and new angles and take images with different lighting. Shoot a variety of subjects at different times of day. If you are an amateur as I am, look at images taken by other photographers on the ViewBug site and ask questions of them if you need advice. I have found other photographers on this site extremely helpful and SO very kind and willing to help.
