Location
I have a small farm in northwestern Ohio. I had recently retired from 25 years of teaching and was sitting in my dining room. I looked out the window and there were bluebirds EVERYWHERE!!! It was quite possibly one of the most wonderful moments of my life. I found myself smack dab in the middle of a bluebird migration. I snapped several photos of which this is one.Time
It was early afternoon.Lighting
Lighting is all natural.Equipment
I was using my older Canon EOS Rebel XS. I had just acquired a 150-600 Tamron lens which allowed me to capture some epic shots. I used no flash and no tripod.Inspiration
I have always loved wildlife. On this day, I found myself in the middle of a bluebird migration. They were in the trees, on the fence posts...they were even sitting on my windowsills. I wanted to capture this memory and share it with others.Editing
I do not have software to edit my photos so all of them are natural (as I took the photos). In my camera bag
I presently have two cameras....a Canon EOS Rebel XS and a Canon t5i. I also have several Canon lenses...a 100 mm macro, a 60 mm macro, a 18-55 mm, and a 75-300 mm. I also have the Tamron 150-600 mm.Feedback
Be aware of your surroundings. There are more camera ops than you realize right in front of you. I can't believe the things that I once would have simply walked past. Take lots of photos. Shoot, shoot and shoot some more. They aren't all going to turn out, but you might capture a few truly awesome images. Take lots of photos of the same object but from different angles and different lighting. More than anything, enjoy the art of photography!!!
