Location
I have a small farm in northwestern Ohio, USA. I have an older wooden barn where I keep my sheep. There are several barn cats out there to keep the mouse population down.Time
This was taken in the evening when I went out to check the water tank levels.Lighting
Believe it or not, this is natural lighting. There was a window in back of me and on the other side of the post from the cat. The sun coming through the window was just right for this shot. All the stars aligned at the same time and the cat peaked around the corner. Everyone gets lucky once in awhile.Equipment
This was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel XS with a 18-55 mm lens. No flash...No tripod.Inspiration
I was just starting in photography and was experimenting. I thought the animals in the barn would make good subjects. This kitty ("Patch") just happened to peak around the corner and I snapped the shot.Editing
I do not have any software to edit pictures so all my photos are as I took them.In my camera bag
When this picture was taken that was all the equipment I had. I now have my Canon EOS Rebel XS and a Canon t5i. I own several lens including a 100 mm macro, a 60 mm macro, my 18-55 mm, 75-300 mm and a Tamron 150-600 mm lens.Feedback
Just keep shooting....I didn't realize I had captured the lighting quite like I did until I downloaded the photo onto my computer. Sometimes things come out better than you think they will (of course, sometimes they come out worse). Shoot, shoot, and shoot some more!!! Take several shots of the same object from different angles and under different lighting conditions. Just have fun!!
