Outstanding creativity and story telling, an image of this depth should have a title to match, thanks for sharing

That's priceless. It is so spiritual that I wonder whether one should bother posting it as adult content. A universally recognized logos woman or moon child.

In the middle of nowhere!! And I mean that. I was living on a desolate farm in Virginia and had rarely felt that shooting in studio was my thing. I had always loved natural light so much...why bother. But then I wanted to explore so we renovated a broken down shack on the property to allow me to explore more.Time
What time of day???hmmm...??? Not sure. When shooting myself...it can happen immediately...when things just fit...or it takes what feels like hours to finally get THE ONE. THE HONEST ONE. But I will say...I love start shooting early and can continue as ideas flow until 2...3am....Then its time to stop.Lighting
Light is the most important thing to me in my work. It doesn't matter if its light from the sun, a candle or using strobe. For me...My love of shaping light at the time..not in post...is an integral part of being a photographer. I never want anyone to notice if its natural, consistent or flash. light is light...that i believe helps tell a story...thus has to make sense.Equipment
Very early on I fell in love with large format. Mainly because Icould completely use it in a different way to others. This was shot with a 4 by 5 camera. Because self portraits are hard when shooting at a small aperture I fell in love with the now discontinued polaroid P/N50 which gave you a positive and negative so you knew if you had it. Obviously tripod. nd i'll let you guess if his one is continuos light or strobe.Inspiration
I think that for me....I needed to explore myself to truly trust what I was saying as an artist. To do that requires vulnerability to fail..or maybe face your fears. Its one thing to photograph someone else. Its a totally different experience to be not only the photographer but the "model". I wanted to push myself to look beyond the surface...get over those insecurities..and see what looking in the mirror would show me.Editing
Well..i"m the old lady here I guess. And coming from using film, developing it myself, then printing myself taught me everything I still utilize today. So back then PN55 creating negatives but were extremely delicate...one wrong handle when washing and you get scratches you could not fix with a spot brush etc. In printing in a darkroom...well...I followed my gut...not the rules...and I apply the same thing today in photoshop. If I don't have an amazing image to build on...then I won't salvage. I still try and make sure I achieve everything in camera so that post is about contrast, dodging and burning, and color balance. In my camera bag
I would say I don't care... Me...I am not an expensive equipment brand name needy person. Having said that...I want what I have to work and be versatile enough for me to follow my gut no matter what was "the plan". I make sure that my have a fully tested camera body plus my three favorite lenses...always fast as i shoot video open. Back up fully charged batteries in case. and a small point and shoot incase of emergency. a good one.Feedback
I guess my biggest thing would be experiment technically but more importantly...know or get to know what you're wanting to say. That way as try out continuos light thru different diffusion or different strobes etc..sometimes it s from the mistakes we finally find ourselves.
