I took this photo on a ranch in Central Florida where my son and grandson went fishing in a pond.Time
It was early afternoon on an overcast day.Lighting
The overcast day made for good lighting where harsh shadows from direct sunlight were absent.Equipment
I used an Olympus E520 SLR with an 18 - 120 mm lens. Flash was not used.Inspiration
This was the first fish that grandson Nicholas had ever caught. I loved the expression on his face when he got a good closeup look at his catch.Editing
I cropped the image slightly and sharpened some of the detail with photo editing software.In my camera bag
I now use a Nikon D7100 with a Tamron 18 - 400 mm lens. I find this combination can easily handle most photos that I chose to take from wide angle landscapes to telephotos of animals like birds.Feedback
Always be ready for the unexpected moment in that photo that you will treasure forever.
