Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the Six Gun Territory Wild West weekend in Williston, Florida where a reenactment of a train robbery is performed for visiting guests.

Time

The photo was taken in early afternoon.

Lighting

Natural open light on an overcast day was available for the photo

Equipment

I used a Nikon D7100 DSLR with a Nikkor 18 - 140 mm lens.

Inspiration

I took quite a few photos that day, everything from the train itself to individual riders. I took this photo when the band of robbers was leaving just after having robbed the train.

Editing

I converted the original color image to black and white with Photoshop to give it a more authentic look.

In my camera bag

I use a Tamron 18 - 400 mm lens most of the time because it gives me such a wide range of focal lengths.

Feedback

Use a fast shutter and use rapid fire to capture several variations of the same scene giving you a selective advantage.
