I was enroute to Goa on the Pune-Bangalore Expressway.... Enroute there is a long tunnel that you come across which is beautifully lit during the evenings... I always wanted to capture the precise moment of vehicles moving fast and never got the right opportunity. That day was THAT MOMENT which I just could not miss..Time
This one of my favorite snaps and had been waiting for this moment for a long time. While approaching this tunnel I wondered, if today is THAT DAY.... I was closely observing the traffic and for my pleasant surprise it was decent enough on that day. There were a number of commercial buses running. When I reached the tunnel, I parked my car along the side roads; took my tripod out and set the camera in action... Waited for the right mix of vehicles to pass by and the BOOM.. there it was... Wanted to get the right mix of the rear lights ..... It took me about 12 photos to get this RIGHT snap. This was taken on 11th Jan 2014 @6:15 AMLighting
Motion photography and its kinds I always enjoy.. Also the combination of natural morning light and the tunnel yellow lights were a perfect combination ......Equipment
I used Canon T4i Rebel, 18-135 lens, Benro Tripod, no flash.. This shot was taken with ISO 100, f/20, SS 4sInspiration
I wanted to always capture motion as it is one of my favorites... And in a tunnel with lights I wanted to give the viewer a direct feel of the live action... The blue and read rear lights with the different mix of vehicles which included buses, cars was the key... it took some patience and timing that gave this GLORIOUS shot....Editing
Post Processing was limited to adjustments around the Saturation, Color Temperature, Vibrance and Brightness....In my camera bag
I always carry my photo-weapons along with me whenever I leave my house... My bag is stuffed with:\ Body: Canon Rebel t4i Lens: 18-135, 70-300, 10-22, 50 mm Tripod: Benro External Flash: Yongnuo 600 Filters: ND, CP, UVFeedback
I would suggest for my fellow photographers to always keep their eyes wide open... If they have some burning desire to click "THAT" photo - pursue it .... It took me a wait of 4 months to get this clicked and all earlier attempts failed... Ensure that you learn about your surroundings around that place well.... Keep pushing yourself always multiple times and learn from my mistakes... I always quote the famous line by Ansel Adams: "You don’t take a photograph, you make it"
