Location
This photo was taken at Bhigwan, a town on the border of the Ahmednagar, Pune and Solapur districts in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Around 105 km from Pune, it is situated on the backwaters of Ujani dam. The water of the dam has created a shallow wetland and hosts many birds. Greater Flamingos are seen in flocks of hundreds. Dec - Mar is the best time to visit.Time
This was around 7:00 am in the morning. We reached there around 6:30 am and immediately took the boats we had hired to capture these stunning images.Lighting
Well this is my favorite period of the day when I love to take photos - the Golden Hour.Equipment
Camera 650D. No flash and no tripod, as were in a boat. :)Inspiration
My genre is normally landscapes, macro and candid. I was never into bird photography. But when I saw these beautiful creatures, I was awestruck. With my limited gear I managed to take a few good clicks. I would advise to take a good lens 300 / 400 / 600 mm to get excellent photos when you visit this place.Editing
My post processing is limited to Lightroom: color, light and sharpness controls mainly. In my camera bag
I always carry my canon camers with 50mm, 18-135 mm lense, fotopro tripodFeedback
If you are a bird lover, this place will not disappoint you. You will be amazed with the different breeds of birds here, and especially you will be mesmerized with the flamingos in large numbers. Go with the right gear and a powerful zoom lens. Am sure it will be a memorable experience for you.
