This image was taken outside my home in Muskegon, Michigan. "Skeeter" was sitting on top of the wooden bird feeder and burrowed his nose into the snow, popping up at just the right time!Time
Michigan winters can be brutal so I set up bird feeders outside the windows and feed the various species throughout the winter months. This was taken late in the afternoon when the squirrels normally frequent the feeders.Lighting
Just natural daytime lighting.Equipment
I was shooting with an Olympus E-500 with an 18-200mm lens on a tripod.Inspiration
There is so much activity throughout the day at the feeders and I have a huge picture window that looks out. I try to capture the different birds and other animals around the feeders because of the clear shot through the window.Editing
The only thing I did post-processing was a bit of cropping. In my camera bag
I normally carry a number of different lenses as well as batteries, SD cards, and, of course, the charging equipment.Feedback
The name of the game is patience. Sitting and waiting can be frustrating but well worth it in the end.
