Thank you . . . Disneyland after midnight. I dragged my poor husband 3 nights in a row using different lenses to finally captured what I was looking for.

Location
This photo was taken at an amusement park in Southern California. This amusement park no longer allows professional camera's or tripods into their facility.Time
This photo was taken at midnight when the park was closing.Lighting
I photographed this photo in the pitch of darkness allowing the carousel to light up the sky. With the top of the carousel being purple it gave a purple hue to the sky. This was one of my first night shots I have ever taken.Equipment
I shot this with my first camera being a Nikon D600. I now shoot with a Nikon D5. I can not remember which lens I used for this photo. My tripod is a Manfrotto and I always use a shutter release for night shots.Inspiration
This carousel seemed to have such a magical feel to it with the purple of the top glowing into the sky. I love taking night shots and on this night it just seemed perfect.Editing
I always shoot in RAW so I start my process in Lightroom. I make any adjustment in Lightroom before moving my photo over to Photoshop. In Photoshop I finish all the final touches. In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D5 camera, I travel with at least 3 lenses for options while out shooting. In my camera bag I do have different filters if I choose to use them. I always have an extra battery, a shutter release and my Manfrotto tripod.Feedback
My best advice on capturing a shot like this, is to be prepared. Have your equipment set up and ready in a timely matter. When capturing night shots always use a quality tripod so that it is solid and not shaky. And I always use a remote shutter release as well. Know what kind of shot you are looking for as it is difficult changing locations in the dark of night. But most of all have fun and try new things!
