Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in Venice, Italy, along the edge of Piazza San Marco.

Time

It was.early in the morning, around 630am.

Lighting

The sun was still fairly low in the sky, so it was not very bright just yet.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D7000 with a 24-70 lens and no flash, handheld.

Inspiration

I like long spaces and wanted to give a feel of just how long the building was in a different way.

Editing

Post processing was done with Silver Efex Pro and Photoshop. I enhanced the contrast a bit and converted to b/w to really emphasize the patterns.

In my camera bag

I generally have a 24-70 and a uv filter, as well as a wide angle or a 70-200, depending on the location. On occasion I will take a fish eye also.

Feedback

Shooting from a little below eye level helps bring a more interesting angle.
