I love your shot... I love the pup. I have a male huskie named Kobi, that is my sweetheart . He is 5 years old and he and our black Lab are our babies.

Thank you for the comments. Just got lucky. Right place, right time, and I had my camera ready. Summer is 2.5 years old and is also a sweetheart.

Thank you Ernesto. Summer has always been the sweetest of our pack. She always lives up to the challenge when we're out sledding.

Location
Golf course in Charlton Massachusetts.Time
This picture was taken around mid afternoon. A very cold day that the wind gusts picked up a good deal of snow and threw it around.Lighting
Nothing special about the lighting. The hardest issue this day was the afternoon sun between the clouds and the wind gusts. It made for a challenge to keep the lens clean and the focal points sharp. Because my plan was to shoot some portrait shots, I was using my 50mm lens.Equipment
This was a spontaneous shot. I was only trying to get candid shots of my wife dogsledding. When I looked over my shoulder, I caught one of my dogs, in this case Summer, running towards my wife. I took a few shots at the right moment!Inspiration
Normally, I have a terrible work schedule. When the opportunity comes for my wife and I to have a weekend off, we try to make the best of it. On this particular day, it was bitterly cold, but there were breaks of sunshine. My wife and I have two Alaskan Malamutes and when we are not in the show ring, we like to let our "fur kids" have a little fun. We packed up our dogsled equipment and headed out to a local golf course that has a lot of area for the dogs to run and really stretch their legs. My female Malamute (pictured here) has always amazed me with her grace and she is one of my favorite photo subjects. Because of the wind and blowing snow this day, I did not have time to review many of the shots that I was taking. When I got home, I was able to review them. When I got to this picture, I was surprised at the detail I was able to capture at the right moment.Editing
None used. Just a little cropping. Although, I own Adobe Photoshop 12, I use it primarily as an organizer for my photographs. Often times, when I find myself playing around with post processing images, I end up with something that just doesn't look right. So I tend to leave thing alone. Hopefully, my post editing images will improve enough for me to be satisfied with them.In my camera bag
Still experimenting on what to carry. Right now, it's pretty much everything I can think of. Spare batteries, two (2) prime lenses, two (2) zoom lenses, and an assortment of different filters. Cleaning supplies for the camera and lenses, a mini tripod, flash, more batteries for the flash, two (2) self times, and some quick reference cards.Feedback
The only advise I can truly offer is to always be prepared. You just never know when that perfect shot may appear. I consider this picture to be a very good example of that. I was very lucky that the wind was at my back, my lens didn't get plastered with snow, and I had the right lens on and didn't have to worry too much about focusing. I enjoy photography as a hobby and as long as I continue to expand my knowledge, I will always try to pass on what I've learned.
