Lol! I got lucky with respect to the lens flare and also with the lighting conditions that evening -- sunset to the west and a storm coming in from the east. Thank you very much for your kind words and the PR!!

Location
I took this photo at Trappers Route, which is a popular fishing area in Wyoming. It's right off Highway 220 between Casper, WY and Alcova, WY.Time
It was evening, around 6:30pm.Lighting
The lighting and the sky were amazing that evening, with a gorgeous sunset to the west and a storm rolling in from the east. I wish I could take credit for the lighting, but the credit goes to Mother Nature. I knew what time the sun would be setting, I know the Trappers Route area and that it looks very pretty at sunset, but I didn't know that storm was coming in. The only thing predictable about the Wyoming weather is that it is unpredictable; the weather forecast is subject to change at any given moment.Equipment
I used my Nikon D3200 with my 18-105mm Nikon lens.Inspiration
In general, the inspiration behind my photography is the beauty of Wyoming and the diversity of its beauty. A lot of people are familiar with the Tetons and Yellowstone, which are absolutely gorgeous areas of the state. There are many other beautiful areas in Wyoming but they are lesser known areas. I like to go to these areas, explore the back roads, and capture images so people can see more of Wyoming's beauty. My inspiration behind this particular image was the "Lone Tree" photo contest on ViewBug, however, it was still motivated by my love for Wyoming and wanting to share those images with others.Editing
I always start out in Lightroom and do the basic adjustments and then I either go to Photoshop, Elements, or Perfect Photo Suite and do some additional "fine tuning" to bring out more color, tones, and contrast. I used Lightroom and Perfect Photo Suite for this image, and I usually find myself going to Perfect Photo Suite for the fine tuning and finishing touches. In my camera bag
I don't carry much equipment and gear, at least not in comparison to what I see other photographers carrying. I have my Nikon D3200, an 18-55mm Nikon lens, an 18-105mm Nikon lens, and a 55-300mm Nikon lens. I have a lens hood and UV filter on each of my lenses and I have a few ND lens filters for my 18-55mm lens. I always have a couple lens pens and microfiber cleaning cloths. I also keep my little Nikon CoolPix point and shoot camera in my bag, so when we're out riding the 4-wheelers I put my DSLR in my cargo bag and put my point and shoot in my pocket -- I don't want to miss a good photo opportunity because I couldn't get to my DSLR quick enough.Feedback
Any advice for others trying to capture something similar, hmmmm . . . well, I'm not a big tech person, but the specs of this photo are f.8 at 1/50 a second, ISO 100, no flash, no exposure compensation. I did plan a little in advance to get to Trappers Route before the good light hit so I could take some practice shots from various angles. When I'm photographing something/an area, I don't just take a couple shots and the move on. I take several shots, and explore the angles, perspective, and lighting. I also experiment with shooting in aperture priority mode and manual mode. I think the best advice is get out there, practice, have fun, and most importantly, follow your heart and shoot from the heart.
