Location
I took this picture during a work trip. I had to provide 1 week training to a client in Fernie BC. I was walking around one night and saw this view. Couldn't resist. I simply fell in love with the place and the little town. Fernie is completly surrounded by mountains.Time
It was a bit after having supper. Temperature was very nice considering we were at the end of January, something between 0 Celsius and -5.Lighting
I was simply trying to chase the sunset with the Rocky Mountains on the back. The Sky was getting cloudy but it ended up diffusing some nice blue pastel lights.Equipment
I shit this with my first Camera, a Canon 60D with the kit lens 18-135 on it. I was also using a Vanguard tripod to stabilized everything.Inspiration
Being my 1st time in the western Canada, I live in Quebec, I really wanted top get a picture that would bring me back there every time I would look at it. I had no idea if I would have a chance to go back there ever again, hint, I still have not gone back..Editing
I did some medium editing in lightroom to bring up some clarity on the foreground and I also try to accentuate the purple aura at the top of the mountain so it was a bit more like how it was in reality. In my camera bag
Right now my bag consist of my Canon 7d mk2, a Sigma 70-200 2.8, another Sigma wide angle 10-20 3.5 and one in a while I will also include the nifty-fifty. For lighting up the spot I usually carry 2 Yongnuo cobra flashes one of the is a ttl (685X??). The other is a manual flash. I also have the Youngnuo transmitter and receiver that can send a grid pattern if I need to focus on something when it very dark out. My Vanguard tripod is also with me all the time.Feedback
Be there! take your time, look at the scene with your eyes and not only thru the viewfinder of the camera.
