This is part of a series I'm doing - where I revisit old files of mine and redo the post to make them sharper and clearer... it's amazing how far programs have come in the past few years - that even with an old file like this from my old workhorse of a (now retired) camera can be improved!

Wildfire season is coming. And I hope to never be this close to one ever again. It was enthralling in a terrifying way - I wasn't prepared for how incredibly loud a fire like this is. It's deafening. And even on the other side of the Columbia it was hot. This was the night the fire jumped the river and sparked some smaller fires on the WA side.
