Behind The Lens

Location

We got up one morning and on our back-yard lawn was this new-born baby Fawn. I took this photo from my deck.

Time

It had to be sometime between 8:00 am and 11:00 am.

Lighting

It was ambient lighting outside that day.

Equipment

My Nikon D7100, hand held with my 55-300mm zoom lens.

Inspiration

When I see new life born in nature, it is always inspiring in a multitude of ways.

Editing

Only just cropping to make the subject more easily seen.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D7100 camera, my 18-140mm lens and my 55-300mm lens. Two batteries, the charger and a/c cord, and the usb cable for computer hook-up. I rarely use a tripod, I hand hold, sometimes finding a fencepost or something to rest my arm(s) on. I do have a separate flash for my camera but mainly use the one with the camera.

Feedback

For wild animals in nature, be quiet, no sudden moves, move slowly, never get too close not to spook the animal.
