Time to count stars in water

As it got dark, the stars started coming out. And it didn’t take long for the sky to be strewn with thousands of them. The bright Jupiter was hung high in the sky, which meant that the Milky Way was about to rise from the east of Mt. Ritter. I loved the way that the mountain was still irradiated in the afterglow of the sun. The galaxy slowly faded in. It was one of the moments where everything on earth would be swallowed up by darkness under the new moon. And it was time to count the stars in the water.
