Location
The photo was taken on a warm afternoon in the Tuscan countryside outdoorsTime
Exploring location with the model I found myself on March 18, 2016 in front of a field sown with wheat in the background of a distant mountain. The time of the photo was not the most suitable for outdoor photography (it was almost 3 pm) but, as a photographer must always know how to take advantage of what he has, I took this picture along with many others.Lighting
The shadows marked with the sun almost perpendicular (it was almost 3 pm but with daylight saving time), I had to adapt the shot. I exploited the marked shadows of the sun perpendicular, creating a design on the body of the modelEquipment
In 2016 I used the Nikon D4S. The target used for this photo was the Nikon 24-70 f2.8. Specifically, the focal length used was 70mm; f / 8; 1/800. Freehand shooting.Inspiration
The inspiration for the photo came from the beauty of the model's mouth, the movements very graceful and that tattoo on the shoulder with the words "life is beautiful". A sort of accentuate with the writing on the shoulder, the real beauty of the girl I was portraying. The dark background and the shadow (equally dark) of the hand on the girl's skin, made it very pleasant and gave great emphasis to the portrait subject.Editing
I developed the raw file by sharpening the shadows and adjusting contrasts and saturation. I then used Color Efex Pro. Specifically I used Darken Lighten Center and then applied a figltro with Analog Efex Pro 2 for the soft grain effect I wanted and for the extraction of details. In my camera bag
Normally in my bag is now always present the Nikon D850 and the D5 with the "triad" Nikon composed of 14-24; 24-70; 70-200 in addition to Nikon 2x duplicator. Other optics depending on the need and depending on the situation that I have to go to photograph.Feedback
It is true that the worst time to take pictures outdoors is when the sun is over the subject. All true! But it is also true that a fortograph must know how to exploit what lies ahead. Very often we do not have the possibility to have everything at our best and therefore we have to know how to adapt. Always look for something beautiful and worthy of being photographed even in seemingly negative situations. The shadow of the hand towards the mouth creates a slight shadow on the shoulder. I took advantage of those marked obers that could be negative to create something pleasant.
