Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken close to the northern community of L'Anse au Clair Labrador Canada.

Time

It was taken around 11:45pm in the winter month of February.

Lighting

This picture was taken in the full darkness of the night sky. Absolutely no light pollution in this remote sparsely populated northern area.

Equipment

Canon 5D MK III and a EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens, Manfrotto 290 tripod and wireless remote release.

Inspiration

The night sky was amazing and i wanted to capture it.

Editing

Yes Lightroom and Adobe CC. I adjusted temperature, presence, sharpening and noise reduction.

In my camera bag

In this case i only had a camera, lens and tripod.

Feedback

For long exposures use a remote release. This picture was taken at a bone chilling -25C temperature in February. Dress warm..... with all the lights off you cannot see your hand in front of your face until your eyes readjust so carry a small mini flash light. I triggered the exposure from inside the warmth of my truck. Felt safer there as there is allot of wild life up here and i was alone.
