Location
This picture was taken in a remote area in Labrador near Forteau.Time
It was taken in the winter in the morning around 5:30am before sunrise.Lighting
It was a cold crisp morning and the sky was very clear. Forteau is a very isolated area and when it is night time with no clouds the sky is very clear.Equipment
I used a Canon 5D MK III and a Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM contemporary telephoto lens. The picture was taken hand held but the lens was supported well.Inspiration
It was one of those mornings when the moon is bright in the night sky and i wanted to capture that moment.Editing
I use Lightroom and Adobe CC for most of my processing. For this picture i did some minor adjustments such as clarity and micro contrast. In my camera bag
In my travel bag i carry only minimum gear. I take some LEE filters, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens, Sigma telephoto lens 150-600mm lens and a Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L lens.Feedback
I try to bracket exposure as it is easy to overexpose the image when metering the light reflected off then moon. Best to use a tripod or at minimum a lens with image stabilization if hand held.
