Location
This photo was taken on a self-drive safari in Etosha, Namibia.Time
On safari you have to get up early to see as many animals as possible and especially predators. The photo was taken early one morning by a water hole. The water hole was surrounded by zebras, but also three lions were not far away and made this a very special moment.Lighting
Due to restrictions in the national park it was difficult to choose which direction I could take the picture. The animals decided, as it should be in a national park. Luckily the sun was right in front of me and I got this nice backlight that lights up the lion's man.Equipment
This was shot with Canon EOS 60D, with no tripod.Inspiration
All the pictures i have seen from safari and Africa were a strong inspiration for me. I have also dreamed of seeing lions and after several days of searching I finally found them.Editing
The image is processed in Lightroom - simple color and exposure adjustmentsIn my camera bag
My camera Canon EOS 60D (and now a Canon EOS 7D Mark II. The lenses I use the most are a Sigma ART 50mm and a Sigma zoom-lens.Feedback
If you want to take pictures of predators on safari, my advice is: Get up early and be patient.
