Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at the peak of Erg Chebbi, Morocco in the Sahara Desert.

Time

We had traveled all day from Erfoud to Erg Chebbi to catch the sunset in the dunes by camel

Lighting

The Golden Hour lit up the desert and the sky had the most colorful ribbon like effect I have ever seen

Equipment

A Canon T3i with a Tamron 18-270 mm lens set at 110 mm, At 5.6,ISO at1600

Inspiration

While perched on camel back, I looked back to try to get one more shot off while holding on to the jerking camel. The sky was so beautifully painted I couldn't take my eyes off it.

Editing

I lightened the image and then slightly saturated the color for pop.

In my camera bag

My usual set up is the CanonT3i, and a second Canon 60D with a wide angle lens. I carry a Speedlite as well as spare batteries and extra SD cards.

Feedback

I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time of day-with a bit of calculation. This image surpassed my expectations.
