A cloudy morning near the Laitel peak in the Carpathians. There were some clouds above and now some new clouds were coming from below. 2 minutes after I took this shot you couldn't see anything but pure white. Please leave comments with feedback or any opinion you may have. Thanks !

This photo was taken in the Carpathian Mountains, Romania

Time

I woke up early after a cold rainy night, got out of my tent and saw the clouds starting to disperse. I got my camera an prepared for the sunrise, and started to look for a place to photograph.

Lighting

I liked how I could still feel the smell of the rain that went all night. The light was beautiful, as the sun raised thru the clouds and gently started to light the mountain peaks.

Equipment

I used my old friend, the Canon 5D Mk II with a wide lens.

Inspiration

I was looking for a spot so I climbed to the ridge to take a better look around. As I reached the top I saw a sea of clouds forming in the valley below me. It was breathtaking. I was like the clouds fell from the sky and filled the valley.

Editing

I did some post-processing, like white balance, light correction, etc... I wanted to keep the photo as close to what I saw at that moment.

In my camera bag

I usually have my Canon 5D mk II, a wide lens and a tele. I always carry extra batteries, cards, lens filters and the trypod. I thy to keep my bag as lite as possible.

Feedback

The thing about nature photography and landscape photography is your ability to adapt. You leave home with some shots in mind but when you get there you can't control the weather, the light or nature itself. So you need to adapt, to find your shot and take it. Nature is beautiful in all it's forms. You can take beautiful shots in the day, in the sun, in the rain, in the night. It's easy to take a good photo of the sunset but if you learn to adapt you'll find beauty anytime.
