Well...I was enjoing the silens of the moment. The deep, uninterupted silence. It took me a few moments to get the camera out of the bag and start shooting. I just stood there and stared at this concrete structure that looked like a bridge to infinity.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the Black Sea.

Time

I woke up way before sunrise to go and take some photos before the tourist came. It was cold and windy because it rained the night before but I hope this will make for an interesting sky. At about 5:30AM the wind started to calm down and the sea with it.

Lighting

The light was bether than I hoped, The clouds gave me some color and softened the shadows.

Equipment

I used my old friend, the Canon 5DmkII mounted on a tripod

Inspiration

I was looking for a place to catch the sunrise and I fond this old concrete structure. It looked like a bridge to nowhere...I stoped and as I stared at it I was overwhelmed by silence. The sea was calmer then usual....the wind stoped...and there was nobody there but me. I enjoied the deep silence for few minutes before I took out my camera to start shooting. After loosing myself in the silence the concrete structure no longer looked like a bridge to nowhere...it looked like a bridge to infinity.

Editing

For this photo I tried to keep the post-processing to a minimum. I wanted to transmit to the viewer the same feeling of calm and silence that I experienced before taking this photo. There is always a calm after the storm. There is always hope.

In my camera bag

Canon 5DmkII + Canon 16-35L, Canon 70-300L and various filters.

Feedback

Lose yourself in the moment.
