Incredibly sad yet creative and is steeped with symbolism. The colours are stark which punctuate the sadness and depth of despair. I would use it in a article or course on suicide.

i took this shot in my garage. for the splatter i took large medical syringes full of different colored paint and squirted it on the wall...the paint is still on my walls to this very dayTime
it was night and during the summer so i was pretty sweaty inside that polyester clown costume and wigLighting
simple one light beauty dish on an elinchrom Brxi500 strobeEquipment
canon 7D for the camera body and my 10-22mm at about mid zoom. shot on a tripod using a remote timer to get the shotInspiration
this shot was for an online photography competition called the "chrysta rae photography scavenger hunt" that is run on google+. you are given a list of words and it is up to you to interpret them the best you see fit. this particular word was "color"Editing
i did have to expand the splatter some as i didn't get quite enough on the wall, so i cloned it in photoshop and distributed it out beyond where it ended. also, the shoes were just a normal pair of hiking boots that i then changed the color of and made to look like clown shoes also in photoshopIn my camera bag
to much to list hereFeedback
think out your shot before you ever even touch the camera. have a gameplan in place so that your setup will be minimal. and most of all, have fun with it
