This was made with two 14$ LED lights from IKEA. One to create the lensflare effect in the back and one to move around the object while on slow shutter speed to get even light on the object. Also a flash was used to give that extra sparkle.

Location
I took this photo on the kitchentable in my apartment.Time
It was in the middle of the day when there were still a bit of light comming from the windows.Lighting
Light doesnt have to be expensive. For the flare I used a LED lamp from IKEA that cost around 9$. And then I used a Speedlite to fill.Equipment
I think I used a Canon 70D with a Sigma 50mm Art. A Speedlite 430 EX II. 2 tripods was used. One for the camera and one for the flash. Then the IKEA lamp and a cuttingboard out if polished rock. And ofcourse the glasscube.Inspiration
Like any other photo I take. The moment. I saw the cube and I saw the polished cuttingboard.Editing
Yes there were quite a bit of post-processing. I took around 5-6 different photos of the cube and stacked them so sharpness was all around it. Also played a lot with layers so the colors popped. In my camera bag
For now I use a Nikon D800, Sigma 50mm Art and a Tamron Macro lens.Feedback
An object alone can be boring. But combined with another object could give them both life. Mix around and play with lights and perspectives. A lake can be boring to watch. But put a swan or two in it and it will get interesting. Same with everyday objects and enviroments.
