Location
I took this photo of my neighbor's pond located in Southern Ohio.Time
It was early morning, just after the sun had come up.Lighting
What made the lighting so interesting in this photo was the light fog that was lifting off of the pond. The sun was rising over to the left, and this caused a soft, multicolor hue on the water, accenting the reflections of the trees and adding to the beauty of the moment.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Camera with a 24mm f/1.4 L USM EF-Lens.Inspiration
When I woke up and saw the foggy mist lingering closely to the ground as the sun was coming up, I decided to take a walk up to the road to my neighbors pond to see what it looked like.Editing
I did do some post processing on this, but now a huge amount. I enhanced the colors and cleaned up a few stray branches that were distracting visually. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM LensIn my camera bag
I have a backpack style camera bag with my Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Camera, a 24mm f/1.4 L USM EF-Lens, Canon 75-300 mm lens and a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens in it. I also lens cleaning cloths and solution, extra batteries and a charger along with other odds and ends like a cover for my camera so I can shoot in the rain.Feedback
Get up early, try different angles and positions for composition. Pay attention to lighting, and the reflections. Take lots of shots and enjoy the moment!
