This photo was taken at a wedding in Troutman, North Carolina.Time
The sun was gong down around 7:30 pm.Lighting
No flash was used as the sun cast a beautiful light across the pond.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark III with Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS.Inspiration
The reception site offered a pond hidden in the back with an old dock. I had not had the pleasure of shooting in such a beautiful setting and took advantage of it.Editing
A slight touch up of the blur in the background was all that was done to this photo. In my camera bag
Tripod, Canon 5D, Assorted lenses.Feedback
Take advantage of that magical hour around sunset. Take time to checkout your surroundings. You never know what you may find. I had no idea of the pond at this site until I took a short walk around the property. Also, if staff is available, ask if they know of a good spot for photos. For this shot, I found a slow point during the reception and kidnapped the wedding couple for a few private photos. If you are able to sneak away with them, minus the crowd that loves to take photos, it give you the opportunity to take your time to pose a great shot.
