Photo was created using 2 separate photos, one with the car on jacks and the identical perspective without the car.

an amazing idea
just look a bit at your clone work and
put some movement on the wheels and this shot will be even better
Brilliant imagination I like it a lot

Location
This photo was taken in my driveway in upstate NY.Time
I took this photo around 2 in the afternoon. This set the shadow under the car at a nice angle to allow for the levitation effect.Lighting
This was taken with natural lighting of the sun alone. The shadow was extremely important in the editing of the photo.Equipment
The photo was taken with a Canon 5D Mark iii and a Canon 24 - 105mm L series lens. The camera was tripod mounted about thirty feet away from the car.Inspiration
I have been fascinated by levitation photos but wanted to "levitate" something original. I thought, why not a 1966 Mustang Convertible with family included. It can't be that hard. :-/Editing
The finished photo is actually composed using two photos shot from the same spot. The first photo was shot without the car in the frame. The car was then moved into place, jacked up and set on jack stands after which the second photo was taken. The two photos were loaded into layers in the photo editing software and an edit layer created. The jack stands were then erased from the photo containing the car. They underlying layer filled in the spot where the jacks had been giving the effect of a levitating car.In my camera bag
I carry a Canon 7D Mark iii, Canon 7D, assorted macro, portrait and zoom lenses, flashes, tripod and filters. I have yet to decide my favorite area of focus so I tend to bring a little of everything equipment wise.Feedback
This was my second levitation attempt. Don't be afraid to think big but be sure to keep it safe. I don't believe this is a particularly good levitation photo or a great car photo but the combination worked well to create something different. There are lot of different ways to stand out. Take a chance, try something different.
