Took this photo in my yard, Athens,Al.Time
Taken mid- morning on a beautiful spring day.Lighting
Natural lighting from behind me.Equipment
Coolpix P610, no tripod, no flash, no filters.Inspiration
My mother had passed away a few weeks prior and the Nectarine tree was in full bloom. She loved when the trees blossomed in Spring and I had just gotten the camera and was just taking pictures, learning features and settings. As a true beginner I wanted to try as much as I could.Editing
Because I was a real novice I hadn't yet purchased any editing programs but I believe I used basic enhance setting on the camera. I have an old laptop running on Windows 8 so I am limited to programs at the moment. Use Fotor and Snapseed at the moment. In my camera bag
Nikon N65 with 2 lenses and the new Nikon P610 Digital. I've only been taking serious digital pictures for 6 months now, a week when this picture was taken, so I will expand equipment as I learn more. Upgraded to a D7100 with an 18-140 and a 70-300 lens. Let the experimenting and learning curve begin againFeedback
As a true Novice I would just say : Experiment, take a lot of pictures, find a subject ( I like birds, butterflies, flowers and the moon) , find a type of photo you enjoy ( macro is mine) , be patient, very patient and just enjoy. Share your pictures and join Viewbug for advice and ideas.
