This Bridge was made by the Berlin Iron Bridge Company. It is a lenticular truss bridge. This historic bridge has been rehabilitated and preserved twice, once in 1984, and again in 2007. Some aspects of these rehabilitations were very sensitive to the historic character of the bridge and are commendable, while others seem like they harmed the character of the bridge significantly. One of two remaining of its type in New Jersey, it is the nicer example of the two. The Berlin Iron Bridge Company was a large fabricator and erector company in the late 19th century. They were based in Connecticut. This bridge was built in 1896.
