Location
In Ethiopia, In the Simien mountains. This is the only place to see these monkeys, called Gelada Monkeys or bleeding-heart monkeys, as they have a red heart shape on their chests.Time
The photo was taken at about 11am.Lighting
Sadly, this baby gelada was attached and killed by the new dominant male while we were taking photos. It was amazing to witness but very sad.Equipment
As a man had spent time doing a documentary on these monkeys. We could actually walk quietly among them. I used a canal 5d mark iv and 100-400 Lens.Inspiration
This baby was playing freely and then running back to jump into his mums arms and then running back to dad who was also there. It was lovely to watchEditing
Just a bit in Lightroom, contrast and cropping etcIn my camera bag
Camera, 100-400, 24-70 and 100. Macro. Extra batteries, cards, filter, and a Lee system.Feedback
The only thing to remember with animals is that they are wild and can be dangerous. and it is best to move slowly and quietly and let them get used to you,
