Marvelous composition with the fallen trees on the right in front of the smaller trees leading directly to the misty foggy river/landscape. Great foreground plants bordering the river. Your photo reminds me of the Hudson Valley school of artists.

Location
This photo was taken at my favourite waterway Majors Creek. A rural Shire about 40 minutes west of Townsville, Australia.Time
This is a misty morning sunrise shot.Lighting
The mist was that thick that I wasn't sure that this image would capture well at all. I had to clean my lens a few times due to the moisture settling on the glass. The lighting is as natural as it comes through an atmospheric veil such as mist. The heat of the day had begin to lift the majority of the fog and that is where the morning light is evident in the sky and its reflection. I almost always use an IOS setting of 100 for nature shots to reduce any graininess.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 600D, Aperture f5.6, Exposure 1/80 sec. IOS 100, Focal Length 18mm, handheld camera for speed as the light was changing so quickly and I wanted different angles and no flash fired.Inspiration
That morning was magical, mist always creates an other-worldly atmosphere and the remoteness of this area, away from my usual busy life took me even further into the dreamlike setting.Editing
Not much done to this one, a tweak in exposure and saturation is all.In my camera bag
I carry a backpack. I have two entry level bodies Canon EOS 1100D & EOS 600D. Three cheaper type lenses: a Canon kit lens 18-55mm, Canon Zoom Lens 70-200mm and a portrait prime lens Canon 85mm 1:1.8. I have a packet of cheap ND filters 2-8, a central polarizing filter and each lens has a UV filter mainly for scratch protection. I have a Speedlite from Yongnuo YN560-II, a remote trigger, spare batteries and I always carry an entry level aluminium tripod.Feedback
This was another one of my lucky shots. you have to be out to look for the shots and when moments like this arise you park that car so fast and you take the opportunity. This type of light shifts quickly, take as many frames as possible in a short time and pick the best of the bunch. I stop a lot more often now, this one has been very popular on ViewBug and social media. I wish I had a hundred more like it.
