North of Townsville in far Northern Queensland, Australia. Jourama Falls. Although a very tranquil scene, this shot was difficult to compose due to heat, sweat and Mosquitos! All for art, love this spot though, truly beautiful place.

Beautiful capture...I love smaller falls, they are much more dramatic..I am usaully wondering the marsh or streams in hipboots and camo pants so I can walk in the water and kneel in the mud. My friends make fun of me but I'm in the water getting the shots and they are whinning about wet feet...smirk Nice pictures ....Thanks for sharing them

Yep, it's either the heat, bugs, critters or cold, wind and freezing hands to get great images like this one. The varying boulder textures, heights and shapes make this photo "Pop." Kudos!

Location
Jourama Falls Creek, Far North Queensland, approximately one hour north of Townsville. Australia.Time
Middle of the day, around noon.Lighting
The sunshine in the Far North has extreme UV rating, it penetrates even the densest of canopy in the thick, tropical bush. I wanted a long exposure to capture the flow of the water like a veil, but the settings I eventually chose cut the shutter speed down to 1/2 sec due to the amazing light.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 600D, Aperture f/22, Exposure 1/2sec. ISO 100, focal length 29mm. Tripod used and no flash fired.Inspiration
I wanted to challenge myself to take an image that was comparable to one that might be used in a tourism brochure. I have always admired the crisp vibrancy of commercial shots. This was my first experiment with longer exposure on moving water.Editing
Subtle tweaking of the saturation in this shot to highlight the beautiful colors, the middle tome shadows were also tweaked to give a more even light throughout the frame. It was much darker towards the bottom of the frame as there was much more shade down there. In my camera bag
I carry a backpack. I have two entry level bodies Canon EOS 1100D & EOS 600D. Three cheaper type lenses: a Canon kit lens 18-55mm, Canon Zoom Lens 70-200mm and a portrait prime lens Canon 85mm 1:1.8. I have a packet of cheap ND filters 2-8, a central polarizing filter and each lens has a UV filter mainly for scratch protection. I have a Speedlite from Yongnuo YN560-II, a remote trigger, spare batteries and I always carry an entry level aluminum tripod.Feedback
Sometimes you have to go off the beaten path to find gems. I had seen many photos of "Jourama Falls" and all seemed to focus on the actual falls themselves, although they are quite spectacular, I found the walk to the falls was extremely pretty and I spotted this creek from above. You can see the planks of a walkway that leads across the rocks, I had to scramble off the trail and down river a little to set up for this. It was worth the extra effort.
