Taken at the Alameda Park Zoo, Alamogordo, New Mexico. While leaving the kangaroo pen, this little lizard ran up to my foot; this picture isn't the best, but these guys are pretty tough to photograph. I'm not sure of the exact species, but it's definitely a whiptail lizard of some variety. This particular species seems to be larger in general than others in the area.
