Taken from New Mexico Skies, Mayhill, New Mexico. Used a Takahashi FCT-150 and an SBIG STL-11000M; data taken in red, green, blue, and Ha, combined using Ha as Luminance. M42 is actually the designation given to the lower of these two bright light sources, and then exclusively to the nebulosity; there is a small star cluster inside it referred to as the Trapezium. Above is the Running Man Nebula.
