Enormity of erosion that this body of water has caused
The Colorado River looked awe inspiring with all the fascinating canyon rock formations. It wasn’t the first time having been to the river, but this was definitely the first time seeing the confluence of the ever blue-green Havasu Creek and the river. Or technically the creek joining the river. Definitely every time when I stood before this almighty river, I was mesmerized by the enormity of the erosion that this body of water has caused to create the Grand Canyon. There was a more than usually visible ‘bathtub ring’ in the canyon wall across the river from me that clearly showed near a historic low level of the river. It was at least 25-50 feet higher than where I was. Considering the fact that the deepest of the river is only about 85 feet deep, I wondered if it was just a matter of time for the river to completely dry up. Would be a sad day.
