Absolutely gorgeous! Wonderful long exposure. This is such a beautiful city.

Great image! Love the way that everything, from the front to the back, is in Focus. The beautiful leading line coming from the left leads the eye straight through to the opposite top corner in a pleasing way. My curiosity was peaked when I noticed the street in the middle of the image leading to what seems a spire of a Cathedral.. just a delightful mage.

Location
The famous intersection of Leidsegracht and Keizersgracht in Amsterdam.Time
This photo was taken in the early evening. Low cloud cover had meant that sunset and blue hour were unspectacular but the foreground made up for it.Lighting
You will need to bracket your exposures otherwise the street lighting will overexpose your shot. I found that three bracketed exposures evenly captured shadows, with a longer exposure to smooth the water too.Equipment
I used my full-frame Nikon D810 with a wide angle lens and a simple travel tripod.Inspiration
This is the classic Amsterdam scene of serene canals in the evening. the car streaking past was a happy accident.Editing
Dust removal and blemish correction, plus noise reduction using Photoshop. The photograph composites three bracketed exposures so capture the highlights and shadows - the highlights exposure also captures the car streak. In my camera bag
I have a full frame Nikon D810 and a crop sensor D5500 with a selection of lenses. For travel photography, I pack as light as possible, travelling only with the D810, Manfrotto Befree tripod, a wide angle lens (I have two to choose from - a 12mm prime and a 16-35mm zoom) and possible a zoom lens (the 28-300 has incredible range)Feedback
With a stable tripod and some patience, this is a relatively simple scene to photograph. The bridge does attract many photographers in the evening, so please exercise patience.
