This photo is made by using 31 images with different focus points, so i keep my camera on the tripods and very slowly but very fast changing focuses points i took the burst shots of 31 images , i use light diffuser with 1-20 shutter speed and aperture 10 with iso 100 . I shoot raw with my D750 Nikon and i use 105mm, 2.8g sigma lances with 20 mm + 12 mm extension tube and it taken in my garden in day light plus extra diffuse light .
One more tricks i drop sugar syrup in cotton behind the flowers so the bee take time and don't move too much . First 600 shoots gone something wrong and even this could be much better.

I keep coming back to this shot because I love it so much. One thing though. I don't understand how you changed focus points taking burst shots. Or is this what you meant?

make it very simple , once you focus on bee head and you ready to trigger than press the button and keep roll the focus point toward bees backward , make sure you have enough light and your flash keep flashing (keep in manual on 1/64 hardness ) too. shooting mood manual and burst mood CL

One of the best shots I've seen in a while! Quite a lot of effort you put into it! Does the sugar drop trick work each time?

Location
It was taken in my garden in daylight plus extra diffuse light.Time
I start around midday and finish around 6:30 pm evening, this photo was shot on a sunny evening around 6:15 pm.Lighting
well, direct sunlight is bit harsh and it's not enough as well so I use flash with diffuser.Equipment
This photo is made by using 31 images with different focus points, so I keep my camera on the tripods and very slowly but very fast changing focuses points I took the burst shots of 31raw images, I use the light diffuser with 1/20 shutter speed and aperture 10 with ISO100. I shoot raw with my D750 Nikon and I use 105mm, 2.8g sigma lens with 20 mm + 12 mm extension tube and it took in my garden in sun lights plus extra diffuse light. One more tricks I drop sugar syrup in cotton behind the flowers so the bee takes time and don't move too much. First 600 shoots gone something wrong and even this could be much better.Inspiration
when springs start and you love to be in the garden in the sunny day with your favorite gear there is always something comes in your mind to do crazy things, and this is one of the results of that day. I love to keep close relation with nature and I believe the macro world is another dimension of adventures life where you have very large live life front of your viewfinder and that adventures tiny landscape looks like aliens world which fascinated sci-fi minded person like me.Editing
yes, I use Lightroom and Photoshop software to finish this . as I said earlier I shoot this in raw format so I use a light room to enhance color tone and fix its vertical position by cropping and I use focus stack method in photoshop to sequence all focus point in one frame and I finish this.In my camera bag
I use full frame Nikon D750, sigma 2.8g, 105mm lens with 20mm + 12mm extension tube, 2 flash, diffusor, tripod, remote, laptop, Photoshop, and Lightroom.Feedback
usually shooting this types fast flying bee or fly is very difficult and depth of field is very shallow that's why I use sugar syrup in cotton to keep them for few second during shooting and I use follow focus system and camera rig to quickly change the focus point. happy shooting.
