Behind The Lens

Location

This photo has been taken in my home...

Time

Afternoon

Lighting

I used several different lightings, besides the light of the afternoon, to be able to highlight the volumes of the body and all the details as much as possible.

Equipment

No tripod, no flash... just my old camera, a Canon 1000d with a 18-55 lens little bright but sufficient considering the various lightings used...

Inspiration

I wanted to reproduce in images, sculptures which I liked. " The Danaide " was the first one which occured me and the first one to be realized.

Editing

At the beginning, not I just had made that pass of the color to the black and the white. Then by registering me on Viewbug, I wanted to return to the color version which I worked again with the method of the moment on Lightroom.

In my camera bag

I have several cameras among which two Canon and a small Olympus... and various objectives: 50mm, Lensbaby, telephoto lens, etc...

Feedback

The important, for this kind of photo, is doubtless the lighting ... but there is also a "base"... To be able to reproduce the pose and the volumes, I posted several photos of the sculpture of Rodin on my computer screen. Several photos taken of different points of view... This "visual base" helped me a lot concerning the pose to be made set in the model but also concerning the various lighting sources of the place (Museum)... Then, it does not more remain than to direct the model with regard to the natural light, then to place the various lights according to the point of view which we selected... and push the button !
