Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the place of residence of a friend...

Time

It was in the afternoon, there was of the sun which got through the French window.

Lighting

The only used light which was natural because it was about the sun...

Equipment

I just used my camera equipped with a telephoto lens... No tripod, no flash, etc... Nothing else than my camera !

Inspiration

What inspired me? Just the girl of my friend, very photogenic and not jibbing be photographed...It was just an ideal moment considering the lighting of the sun which crossed the room...

Editing

Yes, I made some small retouches in lightroom but very light as go back up a little the contrast and change slightly the temperature of the photo...

In my camera bag

I have a Canon 7D and a Canon 5D mK III... and various objectives: 50mm f1.4, Lensbaby composer pro, 24-105 f4, 70-200 L f2.8 is usm II, Tokina 16-28 f2.8, 2 speedlites... I've got some coloured filters too... I also use my smartphone sometimes...

Feedback

I would just say that it is necessary to know how to spot the good moments when we ant to use the sunlight. It's also necessary to know how to exploit it in a coherent way... For this photo, I asked to the girl of my friend to get closer to the French window. I asked her to put herself of profile so that the light "strikes" the right-hand side of the face. The light which illuminates the left-hand side being also the daylight because we were in a room where the sunlight passed " from a window to the other one "...
