Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken in The Lanes, Brighton in a quiet Sunday morning in April.Time
It was morning. This part of Brighton is popular with tourists and is usually very busy.Lighting
The Lanes are narrow and not much natural daylight penetrates. I made the mist of what light there was.Equipment
I used my Canon 6D for this one. No flash or tripod.Inspiration
It's a beautiful, intriguing part of Brighton and I was keen to capture it whilst quiet.Editing
I wanted to give the shot a 'Harry Potter' feel and so I used an HDR programme to bring out the colour and contrast. In my camera bag
I have a Canon 6D camera and usually carry a selection of lenses depending on what I plan to shoot. I always have my 24-70 f/2.8 lens and supplement that with either a wide angle lens or my 70-200 f/2.8. The lenses are heavy so I do try and take with me only those I plan to use. I rarely use flash or tripods.Feedback
I sought out the angle from which I wanted to take the shot and then waited until the area cleared of people. It's important to wait until the scene before you is the image you want to capture.
