Behind The Lens
Location
Thus was taken in an artist’s studio.Time
It was the height of summer, in the afternoon.Lighting
There were big windows so most of the light is natural daylight. I used an extra flash behind the model to simulate a backlit window.Equipment
My camera is a Canon 5D Mark IV. The lens used was my 85mm prime lens, shot at f1.4. Flash behind the model.Inspiration
It was an artist’s muse shoot. I love backlit shots and wanted to experiment with using flash to simulate a window.Editing
This was edited in PS, using a couple of Fine Art actions and finished off in Alien Skin, Exposure 3.In my camera bag
My camera and the lenses I expect to use on the shoot in question. Never flash and rarely a tripod but sometimes a set of reflectors. I travel light!Feedback
Backlighting is very flattering. Where the light is coming from an actual window, reflectors do an amazing job at bouncing natural light back onto the subject,?
