Great job Joe. Getting a hat to stay on a dog is always a challenge!

Location
I was living in Santa Fe New Mexico working at the Santa Fe Photographic workshops when I photographed Sam in my apartment. I had gotten Sam my freshman year of college. Being a photography major at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Sam was use to me photographing him.Time
mid day on a saturday.Lighting
I used a double lighting set up. I used the dynalite 1000w power pack with two lights. A background light and then a main light. Then i used a reflector just to fill in the shadows on the photo right side.Equipment
I used a canon eos 1n film camera and the 24 mm 1.4 lens. If I remember it was fuji velvia 50 film.Inspiration
Sam was always willing to be photographed. He was calm and mellow at all times. Very photogenicEditing
After scanning i just did the basic sharpening and contrast adjustments. In my camera bag
I usually shoot with a canon 5dmk2 and a canon 6d. 16-35 f4, 50mm f1.2, 135mm f2. I also still use my canon eos 1n at times. A Linhof 4x5 as well. Yeah I still shoot film.Feedback
Shoot what you love and what your passionate about. Shoot a lot of it.
