I was Kayaking Lake Saganaga in Northern Minnesota looking to photograph the Common Loon. This was my first excursion camping in and around the Boundary Canoe Waters Area Wilderness. It's a magical place going to sleep and waking up hearing the call of the Loon which I think is the most beautiful sound in nature. I also got the chance to be Serenaded by a pack of Timber Wolves the night before, which again is magical. As I shot this beautiful sunrise from my Kayak, I had to pause and take this image and soak it in. The loons call was echoing and reverberating across the water and through the trees. This is why I do what I do, it gets into your blood. The wilderness in all its freedom.
